The Olomouc Cathedral of St. Wenceslas will become the place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, where two new candidates will be sent for the service of military chaplain: P. Vojtěch Radoch and Deacon Josef Záboj. The service on this occasion will be led here at 5:00 PM by Bishop Antonín Basler, Bishop Zdenek Wasserbauer, and also by the representative of the Ecumenical Council of Churches, Tomáš Tyrlík.
The chaplain is sent to the army as a common representative of the Christian churches, namely the Czech Bishops' Conference and the Ecumenical Council of Churches in the Czech Republic. Candidates take the oath of military chaplain into their hands.
While P. Vojtěch Radoch serves with the tank battalion in Přáslavice, Deacon Josef Záboj – former head of the Archdiocesan Center for Family Life – is a chaplain at the Military Hospital in Olomouc.
